Suzie's Super Survivors
Hello,
First and foremost, I would like to thank my Savior, Jesus Christ, for everything he has done for me and will continue to do for me in the future. Without Him, I would not be where I am today. Second, I would like to thank my husband, Terry, for loving me and taking such good care of me throughout my illness. Third, I would like to thank my children, Wes, Tiff, Aaron, Margaret, and Becky for loving me and being there for me. A special Thank you to my Granddaughter, Cynthia. One of her missions in life is to help "my Zann" to raise money to find a cure for breast cancer. I have a new grandson, born January 6, 2009, Mason Aaron Turman. I am thankful to God for allowing me to live to meet him.
I am a 3rd generation breast cancer "victim". I lost my mother and my maternal grandmother to breast cancer. I was diagnosed on April 10, 2007 and had both breasts removed on June 15, 2007. I proceeded to get breast reconstruction, and I am, and will remain cancer free !
My mission in life is to do any and everything I can to try and prevent a 4th and 5th generation breast cancer diagnosis. My daughters, granddaughter, sisters and nieces are at high risk and I fear for them and others too.
Most of my items come decorated with breast cancer pink ribbons to remind you that early detection is the key. Remember to get your mammograms!
We have walked in the Komen Central Ga. Race for the Cure in Macon, Ga. every October for the last 3 years. We just had our walk 10/24/09.
Starting at this point, we will no longer walk in the Komen Central Ga. Race for the Cure in Macon, but we have choosen to put our fund raising to a local opportunity. We chose The breast cancer survivors network located in Peachtree City, Ga. These people are made up of breast cancer survivors and volunteers who help newly diagnosed breast cancer patients with anything they need while they are going through their treatment. Janet Beebe and her staff are wonderful people and do a wonderful job. They supply Fayette and Coweta counties locally.
